A New Way to Get Tons of Free Traffic

I’m sure you’re going to see this plastered all over the net, and well, this blog is no exception.

In fact, I’m a big believer in testing new Web 2.0 tools and techniques, especially when I can be an early adopter if they work. And here’s a chance for you to do the same. Best of all, it won’t cost you a single red cent.

What am I talking about? What’s all the fuss about? Continue Reading »

How To Beef Up Your Proof - Part 2

In my last article, I offered some tips on adding more proof to your sales copy.

Because nothing’s worse than your prospects leaving your site immediately because your claims sound “too good to be true.” Even if they really are true.

Today I’m going to take it a step further and talk about a more advanced technique (but often missed by many copywriters). Continue Reading »

How To Beef Up Your Proof - Part 1

Well, I’m finally back from vacation. My sister’s wedding went off pretty much without a hitch. My wife and I spent some lovely vacation time in Plymouth, MA and along the Cape for our anniversary. And Labor Day, the “unofficial” end of summer, has come and gone.

Now it’s time to get back into marketing. Today I want to talk a bit about incorporating proof and believability in your sales copy, because it’s one of the most lacking things I see in many sales letters online today. There are so many opportunities to pile on the proof, there’s really no excuse to be slacking in that department. Continue Reading »

A Domain Name They’ll Remember

Yeah, it’s been a little while since I’ve posted. I even had one person email me to tell me that my blog is growing a beard!

The truth is I’ve just been very busy, between the toolkit launch, and a couple of copywriting jobs for clients. Plus I’m getting ready to go on vacation. My sister is getting married, so my wife and I are heading up to the Cape for that, then perhaps down to Newport, RI. And then from there we’re going to be spontaneous and play it by ear. Offline Marketing in the Internet Age

My wife often asks me what the heck I’m watching when she wakes up late at night to see an infomercial on television.

The truth is, I’ve often watched these types of programs, including home shopping channels like (I actually took a tour of QVC in Philly back in the 90’s, when they were a smaller outlet).

Yes, it makes sense when you think about the fact that we are all in the business of selling. It doesn’t matter whether you’re employed at a company or a self-made entrepreneur. We sell ourselves everywhere we go. Continue Reading »

A $15K Philly Cheesesteak?

I just spent the weekend at Ken McArthur’s Alert Live seminar in Philly, and I got the chance to spend some time with some amazing marketers.

I don’t know if you’ve ever attended a marketing event like this, but if you get the chance, I highly recommend you do so.

Just hanging out in the bar or the smoking area outside was a seminar in itself. There was one conversation I recall where Michel and Sylvie Fortin, Ben Mack, Ross Goldberg, Jason DeVelvis, Karl Barndt, Gina Gaudio-Graves, and I were shootin’ the breeze, and Michel started talking about video and on a sales letter.
