A $15K Philly Cheesesteak?
I just spent the weekend at Ken McArthur’s JV Alert Live seminar in Philly, and I got the chance to spend some time with some amazing marketers.
I don’t know if you’ve ever attended a marketing event like this, but if you get the chance, I highly recommend you do so.
Just hanging out in the bar or the smoking area outside was a seminar in itself. There was one conversation I recall where Michel and Sylvie Fortin, Ben Mack, Ross Goldberg, Jason DeVelvis, Karl Barndt, Gina Gaudio-Graves, and I were shootin’ the breeze, and Michel started talking about video and light boxes on a sales letter.
Then Sylvie and Gina jumped in, talking about a few things they were doing, and before you know it, I was getting a front row seat to some serious behind-the-scenes stuff going on. Stuff that just isn’t talked about openly.
Now I’m not trying to get you all drooling about something important I’m about to reveal, because you really had to be there to get it all. Words in an email wouldn’t do it justice.
The point I was trying to make, though, is that these live events are a GREAT chance to network and set up million dollar deals.
I chatted with Sterling Valentine about that, because he played a bit of a “JV matchmaker” in his session. I ended up sitting next to Alan Bechtold, who mentioned out loud that one such deal was worth $12 million to him. When Sterling had us introduce ourselves to someone we hadn’t met, I went straight for Mr. $12 Million!
And that was just the beginning.
I also met Brian Edmonson.
If you don’t know Brian, last year he came out of the blue and ended up being a Top 20 Super Affiliate for Butterfly Marketing right next to all the top marketers with huge mailing lists.
But the part that head everyone scratching their heads was…
Not only was he completely unknown, his list was only made up of 1,286 subscribers!
And now he’s just released exactly how he did it.
I was pretty darn curious, so I snatched up his product. After all, it was only a measly 27 bucks.
Well, when I started looking through it (I read the transcript, but he has the audio too), I have to say, he’s got some gems in there I had never considered before.
And I’m always on the lookout for some techniques to add to my marketing arsenal.
As you probably know, I don’t pitch many products. You don’t hear from me three times a week promoting everything under the sun.
But when I come across something that I really think stands out and can benefit you, I feel I should at least let you know about it, and you can make your own decision.
The funny thing is, Brian didn’t even mention it to me in Philly. This is not some deal we cooked up while I was there. I actually got an email from Mike Morgan, a friend and copywriting colleague of mine, who told me about it.
Mike doesn’t recommend products lightly either, so I ended up checking it out for that reason alone. And I’m glad I did. The timing is perfect.
So if you’re looking to build a list (or already have one), I think you should at least take a look at it. If you have a 20,000+ list already, you’re probably already bringing in 6 or 7 figures from it. But if you’re like me, with a smaller tight-knit list of subscribers, you might get some gems out of it also.
You can find out more at Brian’s site.
But do me a favor, will you? If you’re gonna get it and leave it on your hard drive, then don’t bother. It’s not going to be worth anything to you in that case.
But if you want to make 15K in 7 days with a small list, and you’re willing to follow Brian’s steps on exactly how he did it, then it’s a worthwhile investment.

Hey John,
That was a great conversation. This was my third jvAlertLive and by far my best.
For those who’ve gone to one marketing event and felt they didn’t get anything out of it, keep in mind that just showing up really counts. As you meet the movers and shakers in the business over a number of events, you make an impression and people begin to remember you. That’s when the opportunity for deals begins to happen.
I talked with Brian Edmonson at the Glazer-Kennedy Inner Circle Philly Chapter meeting on Wednesday and he pretty much confirmed this strategy as helping him build a network of JV partners and grow his business.
Keep in touch!

Good point, Karl. The people who show up at these events are among the few, and are more likely to get JVs over those who try to just network online or via email.
Cheers,
John
